2015 Economic Outlook from the Eyes of Virginia CPA’s
Highlights from the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountant’s 2015 Economic Expectation Survey, which surveyed more than 300 CPA’s throughout Virginia.
Presented by: Stephanie Peters, CAE, President and CEO of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants
The Current Performance and Near-Term Outlook for the U.S., Virginia and Washington Area Economies
The recovery of the U.S. economy gained momentum over the last three quarters of the year setting up a stronger outlook for 2015. In contrast to the U.S. economic performance and outlook, the Virginia and Washington area economies are underperforming due to the cumulative impacts of federal spending reductions dating from 2011. In the absence of the historic annual gains in federal spending, the Virginia and Washington area economies have been repositioning themselves for growth, shifting from a federal-oriented market to a business-to-business market model.
Presented by: Stephen Fuller, Ph.D., Dwight Schar Faculty Chair and University Professor and Director, Center for Regional Analysis School of Public Policy, George Mason University
