Fairfax, VA — Matthews, Carter & Boyce (MCB) is pleased to announce that Sarah DeVoe, CPA, CFE has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. DeVoe will manage MCB’s financial operations, and her responsibilities will encompass leadership and oversight of all finance and accounting functions.
Before joining Matthews, Carter & Boyce, Ms. DeVoe held several management roles, including serving as Director of Finance and Accounting at EarthOptics, an agricultural technology startup. Earlier in her career, she served as a manager at Swart Lalande & Associates (before the firm was acquired by DHG, now FORVIS). From there, she joined the team at Burdette Smith & Bish (BSB) as a manager, and was subsequently promoted to partner. During her more than five years as partner, she was the firm’s Audit Director and led its nonprofit industry group. She also served on the Virginia Society of CPA’s Peer Review Committee during that time.
Ms. DeVoe is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of New York. She is active in the Northern Virginia business community, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.
